Tindoona Cottages is a self-contained couples or singles get away, located just 4km south of the township of Foster, in South Gippsland. Chris and Hege Chapman took over Tindoona Cottages in August 2015, making the move from corporate jobs in Melbourne. We both greatly enjoy making Tindoona Cottages the perfect "home away from home" for our guests, as well as exploring the local area with our 2 dogs.
The cottages are fully self contained with modern facilities. All linen and towels are provided, and the cottage has a well equipped kitchen (microwave, toaster, kettle, hotplates - no oven) as well as an electric bbq on the covered private decking. Inside you have a flat screen TV, a stereo music system with a CD player and auxiliary input for your iPhone/device, and a dvd-player. We also have a small selection of dvds and cds in the cottage, a split system heater / air conditioner for your comfort whatever the weather, and we supply plenty of wood for the wood heater when needed. Complimentary WiFi is also provided.
During the warmer months you can relax or do some laps in our 12 metre solar heated pool. Towels are provided and opening hours are 10am to 4pm.
We are just a short drive from Wilsons Promontory National Park and the pristine beaches of Waratah Bay, Shallow Inlet and Sandy Point. Corner and Shallow Inlets are renowned for fishing as are the nearby beaches.
Tindoona Cottages are Eco-Friendly.
Fresh rain water tanks provide chemical free drinking water. Our annual Business Plan includes clear actions for minimising our impact on the environment and maintaining an ecologically sustainable business & lifestyle. We appreciate your efficient use of water during the very dry summer months.
The Environment It is our goal to protect our environment to the best of our ability. All cleaning products are environmentally friendly; we don't use pesticides or nasty chemicals on the gardens and we encourage the local wildlife to visit our property. Tindoona Cottages are powered with a 4.5Kw Grid Connected Solar electricity generation facility. We are investigating the viability of going "off-grid" in the future.
Waste & Rubbish We minimise the rubbish and waste we produce. This begins at the time of purchasing all the goods that we provide for our own lifestyle, as well as for our guests. Supplies are purchased in bulk and we aim to select products that use the least amount of packaging and create the least amount of waste. We sort all our rubbish to minimise landfill. We appreciate your assistance by sorting your rubbish into the correct bins (Waste, Recycling & Compost).
Recycling Where possible we recycle and re-use. All paper, glass and plastic is taken to the local recycling centre here in Foster. All organic material goes into our composting system or via the chooks! As with waste and rubbish, we aim to minimise our environmental footprint in everything we do.
At Tindoona Cottages we want to make your stay as memorable and relaxing as possible. Should you have any special requests or questions please don't hesitate to ask when you make your booking inquiry or during your stay.
