Amateur Radio
Being well outside the big city, and 4kms from the township of Foster, the location is very RF quiet and ideal for a get-away to enjoy some HF DXing.
One of our cottages is setup with an off-centre fed dipole and provides good access to all bands from 80-10 metres. All you need to bring is your HF radio with an inbuilt ATU, a PSU and you're away. Enjoy working late night DX on the lower bands or scanning through the higher HF bands throughout the day on the grey line. For SOTA and Parks operators, you are also just a 30 minute drive from three SOTA peaks, the Wilsons Prom National Park as well as the Tarra Bulga National Park. We provide WiFi access so you'll have access to the DX Clusters, email and other internet fixes you require during your stay. If you would like to book the cottage and operate some HF radio in a nice peaceful setting, free from the QRM of the suburbs, just give me a call or drop me an email. Please visit the rest of our website to see what facilities the cottage offers. I look forward to welcoming to my station and helping you enjoy some quality time on the radio. 73, Chris VK3QB 0429 187 593 or vk3qb@hotmail.com |

I have been licenced since 1984 and especially enjoy HF, DXing and Morse Code. Moving to Foster has enabled me to start work on a good HF DX station. It's a work in progress and I hope to have the antenna array complete by the middle of 2016. The picture above is of my recently installed Nally tower with a Rippletech 40m rotatable dipole. Going up soon is the TH3 tri-bander and a 160m sloper.
Note these antennas are not available for use from the cottage. As soon as I can find another TH3 I'll get it up in the air down by the cottage. Please note this page is "hidden". You can not navigate here from the menu. So please take a note of the URL or save it in your favourites! Thanks. |
