This massive event "landed" in Foster yesterday. 3000+ participants jumped on their bikes at Tidal River in Wilsons Prom National Park and rode the 60 kms into Foster town in the morning, and the town welcomed them with open arms!
We closed off Main Street for traffic - there was food and market stalls, music and entertainment all through the day. The riders stayed in town overnight and left this morning to move on to Yarram, another 60+ kms!
The event runs over 9 days, and if you ride the whole route you finish up in Trafalgar, having gone inland from Bairnsdale! It is certainly impressive, and our guests here at Tindoona were inspired. They had brought their bikes and jumped on the Great Southern Railtrail just up the road from here and biked to Welshpool and back the first day, and to Fish Creek and back yesterday!
