Tindoona Cottages is committed to being eco-friendly

South Gippsland is a beautiful part of the world, and we aim to minimize our environmental impact in everything we do.

Our cottages are powered by a 4.5Kw grid-connected solar electricity system, and we hope to be fully off-grid in the future. We also use rainwater tanks to provide fresh, chemical-free drinking water. While there is ample water during the wet months, we encourage you to use water efficiently during the dry summer season.​

The Environment

We strive to welcome local wildlife by minimizing the use of pesticides and harsh chemicals in our gardens and inside the cottages. We also use environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Recycling

We recycle and reuse materials whenever possible, taking paper, glass, and plastic to the local recycling center in Foster. Organic waste goes into our compost bin or is used as feed for our chickens.

Waste & Rubbish

We aim to reduce waste by buying goods in bulk and selecting products with minimal packaging. We also sort all rubbish to reduce landfill and appreciate your help in using the correct bins for waste, recycling, and compost. All compost is used to enrich our vegetable garden or feed our chickens.
