South Gippsland offers brilliant attractions for visitors, with Wilsons Prom the jewel in the crown. Whether you like walking or swimming; boating or biking; eating or drinking (or both!) – you’ll find something to make you happy.
Staying at Tindoona Cottages you are within a 25 minute drive of the following attractions and towns:
"The Prom" - at the southern most tip of mainland Australia it offers spectacular scenery and great bushwalks. Click here for Parks Victoria's information page.
Agnes Falls - highest single span waterfall in Victoria
Foster Golf Club (in town, about 5km away), friendly club with bar and bistro
Great Southern Rail Trail - bring your bike, this fantastic (72km long) trail can be accessed just 3kms up the road. Their great website helps you plan your adventure!
Waratah Bay - stunning beach as far as the eye can see.... It's where our dog Harry is posing in the photo above!
Sandy Point - a small township fronting both the surf beach of Waratah bay and the water sports mecca of Shallow Inlet
Port Franklin - a sleepy little fishing village, where you can buy fresh fish straight from the boats Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings!
Meeniyan - a small town on the South Gippsland highway as you drive towards Foster from Melbourne. It has good restaurants and interesting shops and cafes
Fish Creek - a town known for its art and craft outlets. And its iconic Fish Creek Hotel (1939), a magnificent Art Deco building with a giant fish sculpture by Colin Sugget mounted on the roof!
Port Albert - a little further away (around 45 minutes driving) but well worth a visit. It has an idyllic port, a good pub, a lovely seafront restaurant, fish&chips, and a cute cafe and wine bar!
